Schuschan Enke

Schuschan Enke, 95, of Mountain Home, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Schuschan was born near Istanbul, Turkey, on July 30, 1915. She became an orphan during the cleansing of the Armenians, when she was four years old.

In her 20s, she went through the bombing of Berlin, Germany. Before the end of WWII, she and her husband, George Enke, moved to his home town of Schwaneber. At the end of the war they came under communist control. Before the "wall" was built in Berlin, the family escaped to West Berlin and moved to Schmitshausen, Germany.

May 5, 2005, Schuschan moved to Mountain Home, to be with her daughter. She enjoyed crafting and her garden. She loved her grandchildren. They called her "Oma." They loved her and will miss her.

Schuschan is survived by her son, Dieter Enke, of Germany, her daughter Isolde and her husband, Charles Dickerson, of Mountain Home, granddaughter Alexandra Enke, grandsons Udo Bennett and Charles Dickerson, and great-grandchildren Gabriel, Mariah and Lucas Dickerson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Enke.
