Hundreds gather at annual children's health fair

Broken teddy bears were tenderly repaired during the children's health fair.

The annual Children's Health Fair on the hospital lawn Saturday saw several hundred people turn out for the events and activities designed to promote better health.

A total of 26 vendors were on hand, promoting healthy living and offering children a chance to enjoy games, face painting, pet an alpaca and receive free toys and other handouts during the day.

"Overall, it was a huge success," said Doreen Krabbenhoft, public relations director for Elmore Medical Center. She noted that moving the event outside, rather than inside, seemed to help draw more people to the activity.
