Maxine Hoalst

Maxine Kathleen Evans Hoalst, 92, of Mountain Home, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at a Caldwell care center.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, July 2, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Maxine was born on Sept. 15, 1918, in Grand View, the daughter of Collis Kramer and Orda Rebeca Evans. She was raised helping both in the house and in the fields. One summer she drove derrick for three different ranchers.

Maxine married Manuel Hoalst after graduating from Boise High School. Together they had two sons.

The family moved to Mountain Home, Manuel worked for Ray Harris Implement and Maxine went to work after taking a cosmetologist course and opening her own shop.

After Manuel and Maxine separated, Maxine moved to Oregon, living in Newport, Salem and Woodburn. She attended business schools and worked as a secretary.

Upon Maxine's father's death, she moved back to Mountain Home to be close to her mother. Maxine also spent some time at Lake Havasu, Ariz. She enjoyed Lake Havasu, there was a lot to see and do, and also some good friends were

there. Due to circumstances and troubles that came to pass, Maxine returned to Mountain Home.

After LaDette's passing in 2006, Maxine moved to live with her son, Lee, in Caldwell.

Maxine is survived by her son, Collis Lee, and his wife, Jutta Hoalst ,of Caldwell, her daughter-in-law, Nancy Hoalst, of Mountain Home, six grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, LaDette, and her sister, Charlotte.
