Coaches honor this year's top baseball, softball players

Coaches at Mountain Home High School recognized the top baseball and softball players during awards banquets held last week,

High school baseball coach Mark Cotton handed out letters and awards to several of the Tigers top baseball players.

Earning the Offensive Player of the Year award was Skyler Podesek.

Alex Rodriguez received the Pitcher of the Year award.

The Defensive Player of the Year award went to Jake Hennessey.

Joe Gutierrez received the Mr. Hustle award.

Coach Cotton also handed out All-Conference awards.

Jake Hennessey was selected for First Team All-Conference as an infielder.

Ronny Young received Honorable Mention All-Conference as an outfielder and Skyler Podesek earned Honorable Mention All-Conference as a catcher.

Meanwhile, Lady Tiger softball coach Chris Asbury presented additional awards and accolades to the school's Lady Tigers softball players.

Courtney Christiansen earned the team's Most Valuable Player award.

Madison Siefferman earned the Workhorse award.

The Most Improved Player award went to Morgan Vivier.

Ashley Sessions was named the Most Inspirational Player.

Madi Karst earned the Golden Glove award for her defensive play at first base.

Coach Asbury also handed out this year's All-Conference awards to the Lady Tigers.

First Team All-Conference honors went to Courtney Christiansen in the outfield, Madison Siefferman in the infield and Heather Adams as pitcher.

Earning Second Team All-Conference designations were Krissy Elliott in the infield and Caitlyn Sheehy as Designated Player.
