Wednesday, May 11, 2011

A two-vehicle collision on the interstate left a Mountain Home man critically injured Monday morning.

James D. McCord, 34, was driving westbound on a 2004 Yamaha RX6 when he struck the rear of a utility trailer being pulled by a 2000 Dodge R1500 pickup driven by Brent Noe of Meridian near milepost 93 around 9:30 p.m.

According to Idaho State Police, the force of the collision threw McCord from his motorcycle, causing him to land in the rear of the trailer.

McCord was air lifted to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with critical injuries. It's not known if he was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision or if alcohol was a factor. Noe did not sustain injuries in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
