Hacker kids wrap up charity drive

Hacker Middle School students broke an initial goal recently as they continued to collect recycled metal as part of a yearly campaign that benefits ailing children across Idaho and surrounding states.

Organized by the school's team-building classes, the project at last count had collected nearly 1,600 pounds of recyclable material.

Scheduled to end today, the students are continuing to accept different types of metal to recycle, including iron, tin, metal pipes and aluminum cans.
