Tennis team drops 2 matches

The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team dropped conference matches to Skyview and Bishop Kelly last week.

Skyview Girls 7, Mountain Home Girls 0

Skyview Boys 6, Mountain Home Boys 1

The Mountain Home Tiger tennis team found wins hard to come by last week, April 18, but battled Skyview tough in some of the matches.

In girls' singles, Carolyn Bailey dropped the #1 singles match 2-6, 2-6. Natalie Bush came up short in the #2 match 1-6, 2-6, and Sophia Stoltmann lost the #3 match 1-6, 0-6. In girls' doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger dropped the #1 match 1-6, 3-6 and Brytany Minder and Rebecca Young dropped the #2 match 1-6, 0-6.

In mixed doubles, Jared Mott and Brittany Ryan lost the #1 match 3-6, 2-6, and Jeremy Gillies and Kali Ireland lost the #2 match 2-6, 2-6.

In boys' singles, Justin Rogow lost the #1 match 0-6, 0-6, Daniel Courtright lost the #2 match 1-6, 2-6 and Ben Dearing dropped the #3 match 2-6, 0-6. Mountain Home's only win came in the #2 boys' doubles match, as Ben Cumber and Drew Borgholthaus won in three sets, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Jalen Gibbons and Blake Pachner dropped the #1 doubles match in three sets, 3-6, 6-1, 4-6.

Bishop Kelly Boys 7, Mountain Home Boys 0

The Bishop Kelly Knights blanked Mountain Home in a conference tennis match at the airbase courts Thursday.

In girls' singles, Carolyn Bailey lost the #1 match 1-6, 0-6, Natalie Bush lost the #2 match 4-6, 3-6 and Stephanie Farnsworth lost in three sets, 3-6, 6-2, 1-6. In girls' doubles, Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger lost the #1 match in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 1-6, and Anna Martin and Leah Riley lost the #2 match 1-6, 1-6.

In mixed doubles, Jared Mott and Brittany Ryan lost the #1 match 2-6, 1-6 and Chris Hall and Allie Draper lost the #2 match 0-6, 1-6.

In boys' singles, Justin Rogow lost the #1 match 1-6, 0-6, Timothy Austin lost the #2 match 1-6, 3-6 and Daniel Courtright lost the #3 match 0-6, 0-6. In boys' doubles, Blake Pachner and Jalen Gibbons dropped the #1 match 3-6, 4-6,and Ben Cumber and Drew Borgholthaus lost the #2 match 4-6, 3-6.

"The weather was brutal," said Mountain Home Tiger tennis coach Tamzy House. "A lot of the unforced errors were wind induced, but the Tigers played tough and kept the Knights on the courts until 9 p.m."
