Tigers place at Vallivue

Mountain Home finished third in the girls' competition and fourth in the boys' events at Thursday's Vallivue Invitational track and field meet at Vallivue High School.

Bishop Kelly won the girls' competition with 84 points, Caldwell was second with 75.5, Mountain Home third with 58, Vallivue fourth with 52.5, and Greenleaf Friends Academy fifth, with one point.

Kacee Cameron had Mountain Home's lone individual first-place effort, winning the triple jump.

Mountain Home's 4x200-meter relay team of Heather Williams, Tracey Gordon, Shelly Henrick and Jessica Tindall also finished first.

Dakota Barrie had second-place efforts in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles and the high jump. Kristen Kreutzer came in second in the shot put. Mountain Home's 4x100-meter relay team of Heather Williams, Shelby Henrick, Marissa Streeter and Jessica Tindall finished second, as did the 800-meter sprint medley relay team of Ashley Harmon, Heather Williams, Tracey Gordon and Kacee Cameron.

Third-place efforts went to Keesha Janis-Gibson in both the shot put and discus, Jordan Vivier in the 1600-meter run and Marissa Streeter in the triple jump.

Sarah Richins had a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run.

Fifth-place efforts went to Jordan Vivier in the 800-meters, McKenzie Dorr in the 3200-meters, Jaisyn Sarrett in the triple jump, Hailey Belt in the shot put and Kristen Kreutzer in the discus.

Caldwell and Bishop Kelly tied for first in the boys' competition with 67 points. Vallivue was a close third with 65, Mountain Home fourth with 50 and Greenleaf Friends Academy fifth with 21.

First-place efforts went to J.T. Cristobal in the 100-meter dash, Michael Daniels in the triple jump and Alexander Ling in the 110-meter high hurdles. Mountain Home also won the 4x100-meter relay (Juan Silva, John Payton, Michael Daniels and J.T. Cristobal) and the 4x200 meter relay (J.T. Cristobal, David Katsules, Michael Daniels and Ricky Castillo).

J.T. Cristobal finished second in the 200-meter dash and Mountain Home finished second in the 4x400-meter relay (Ricky Castillo, Colby Hall, Michael Daniels and Tyler Knauth).

Third-place efforts went to Ricky Castillo in the 400-meters and Chaise Hopkins in the long jump.

Fourth-place efforts went to Jeff Checketts in the shot put, Luke Filipovich in the triple jump and Justin Johnson in the pole vault.

"The wind was blowing hard and it was really cold, but we still had some new athletes qualify for district," said Mountain Home Tiger head track coach Rich Urquidi of Thursday's Vallivue meet.

The Tigers go to Timberline today (Wednesday) for a quad meet at Timberline High School in Boise.
