Lady Tigers rebound against Kuna

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers rebounded for a loss to Emmett early in the week to down Kuna with first place on the line.

Emmett 11, Mountain Home 7

The Lady Huskies pounded Mountain Home pitcher Heather Adams for 14 hits, including four doubles and a home run, as Emmett beat the Lady Tigers 11-7 last Tuesday in Mountain Home.

Emmett scored two runs in the top of the first inning, but the Lady Tigers struck for three in the bottom half of the inning to take a 3-2 lead.

Emmett struck for four unearned runs in the second and stretched their lead to 8-3 before Mountain Home added three more runs in the fifth to cut it to 8-6. Both teams added a run in the sixth, but Emmett scored two more in the seventh to make it an 11-7 final.

Krissy Elliott had three hits, including a triple, to lead the Lady Tigers, and knocked in one run. Courtney Christiansen had an RBI-triple, Madi Karst had a three-run single, Caitlyn Sheehy had an RBI-double and Madison Siefferman and Brittney Karst also had hits. Karst had an RBI.

Heather Adams struck out eight, walked five and gave up 14 hits, but just six of the 11 runs were earned. She is now 10-3 on the season.

Mountain Home 4, Kuna 3

The Lady Tigers battled Kuna Friday at Memmelaar Field with sole possession of first place on the line and came through with a 4-3 win.

Mountain Home scored twice in the third to go up 2-0, but Kuna tied it at 2-2 with two in the top of the fourth. The Lady Tigers regained the lead with two runs in the fifth. Kuna managed one in the sixth as Mountain Home hung on for a 4-3 win.

Madison Siefferman and Caitlyn Sheehy both had two hits to lead Mountain Home against Kuna. Siefferman had an RBI. Krissy Elliott, Courtney Christiansen and Madi Karst also had hits. Christiansen had a double and RBI and Karst also knocked in a run. Meanwhile, Heather Adams scattered six hits and struck out three to improve her record to 11-3.

The Lady Tigers improved to 7-2 in conference and 11-6 overall.
