Accident partially blocked interstate

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

A single-vehicle rollover on the eastbound side of the interstate near Hammett partially blocking traffic for about an hour Tuesday afternoon.

According to investigators at the scene, the driver of a pick-up truck pulling a camper trailer lost control when the bumper mount trailer he was towing began to fishtail around 1:45 p.m. The truck rolled over at least three times before ending up on its roof in the median near milepost 114.

During the crash, the male driver was ejected from the truck. He was taken by air ambulance to a Boise hospital with unknown injuries. His current condition is not known.

The vehicle and accident debris partially blocked one eastbound lane but was apparently not impeding traffic in the area, according to emergency crews at the scene.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. Additional details will be released as they become available.
