Nordie Martin

Nordie Martin passed away Thursday April 7, at the home of her daughter, Judy and LeRoy Hultberg in Corvallis, Ore.

Nordie was born on Oct. 18, 1924, in Mountain Home, Idaho, to Joseph and Alta Spence. She grew up and went to school in Mountain Home.

She met Grant Martin in Mountain Home and they married in Boise, Idaho, on Feb. 27, 1941. Grant and Nordie spent most of their lives in Mountain Home and raised three children.

Nordie took special pride in her home, her yard and she was a great seamstress. She had a special talent that everyone wishes they could have.

Nordie is survived by her son, Grant Jr. and Beverly Martin of Lebanon, Ore; her daughter, Bonnie and Larry Catalano of Parker, Colo., and her daughter, Judy and LeRoy Hultberg of Corvallis, Ore.; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Her brothers, Melvin Spence and Leo Spence, both of Mountain Home, also survive her.

Nordie was preceded in death by her husband, Grant, in 1999, both parents; sisters Hazel Haring, Elise Farnham, Wanda Taylor and Phyllis Follett, and brothers Allen Spence and Joe Spence.

Viewing hours are set for 4-7 p.m. on April 15, at Rost Funeral Home in Mountain Home, Idaho.

Graveside services will be at the Bruneau Cemetery in Bruneau, Idaho, on April 16, at 11 a.m.
