After years of planning marked by countless revisions, setbacks and compromises, construction began Monday morning on a new gathering place for the city's Catholic community.

Work on the new fellowship hall at the corner of East Jackson and South 3rd East streets follows nearly a year of debate that almost derailed the project.

"It's a great day for the parish and will be even greater when this fellowship hall opens," said the Most Rev. Michael P. Driscoll, bishop of Boise. "It represents the growth of the Catholic community and the presence of the church in Mountain Home."

  • Hey, just what is needed in this town: more churches!!! Maybe a few more dollar stores and check cashing places while we're at it? God knows that the city cant get any legitimate businesses to come here. ONE decent steak and seafood restraunt sure would be nice. Or how about a decent sporting goods store? This town is junk...and no, I dont live in city limits anymore.
