Tennis team drops conference matches

The Mountain Home Tigers tennis team dropped conference matches to Bishop Kelly and Emmett last week.

The Tigers dropped a conference tennis match at Bishop Kelly last Tuesday, losing the girls match 5-2 and the boys 7-0.

In girls' singles, Carolyn Bailey lost the #1 singles match 0-6, 1-6, Brittany Ryan won the #2 match 6-2, 7-5 and Sophia Stoltmann lost the #3 match 0-6, 0-6.

In girls' doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley dropped the #1 doubles match 1-6, 0-6. Tessa Pachner and Emma Wenger went three sets but won the #2 match 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (TB 7-2).

In boys' singles, Mountain Home lost all three matches.

Drew Borgholthaus was blanked in the #1 singles match 0-6, 0-6. Justin Rogow dropped the #2 match 3-6, 1-6, and Timothy Austin lost the #3 match 3-6, 2-6.

Mountain Home also lost both boys' doubles matches.

Jalen Gibbons and Blake Pachner dropped the #1 match 3-6, 1-6, and Ben Cumber and Richard Goldsberry lost the #2 match 0-6, 0-6.

In mixed doubles, Jared Mott and Natalie Bush lost the #1 match 2-6, 1-6, and Chris Hall and Allie Draper lost the #2 match 0-6, 0-6.

The Tigers hosted Emmett at the base courts last Thursday, and lost both the girls and boys matches 4-3.

In girls singles, Tessa Pachner won the #1 match 6-4, 6-2, Emma Wenger lost the #2 match 0-6, 0-6, and Stephanie Farnsworth went down 2-6, 3-6, in the #3 match.

In girls' doubles, Anna Martin and Leah Riley lost the #1 match, 6-7 (TB 3-7), 2-6, and Allie Draper and Rebecca Young lost the #2 match in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 2-6.

In boys' singles, Drew Borgholthaus lost the #1 singles match 1-6, 3-6, Daniel Courtright lost a close 4-6, 4-6 match at #2, and Wilson Ong lost 0-6, 1-6 at #3.

In boys' doubles, Jacob Hanson and Timothy Austin lost the #1 match 0-6, 0-6, while Jalen Gibbons and Jeremy Gillies won the #2 match 6-3, 6-2.

Mountain Home won both mixed doubles matches.

Jared Mott and Natalie Bush took the #1 match 6-3, 7-5 and Ben Dearing and Kali Ireland won the #2 match 6-1, 6-2.

"The overall dual match was a close one, coming down to three matches that could have gone either way," said Mountain Home Tiger tennis coach Tamzy House.

The Tigers are off this week for spring break, returning to action on April 7 at Nampa High School and then returning home to host The Community School at the Base courts on April 8.
