AFAD theme sought

Thursday, March 31, 2011

The Air Force Appreciation Day Committee is seeking help from citizens in selecting a theme for this year's 51st annual celebration honoring the men and women at Mountain Home AFB and the military in Idaho.

The theme is used on tickets and posters and is a key component of the judging criteria for floats and other entries in the parade. AFAD will be held Sept. 9 this year, with a number of "pre-AFAD" events slated Friday evening, Sept. 8.

The deadline for submitting theme contest entries will be May 1. All entries should be turned into the Chamber of Commerce office, 205 N. 3rd East St. The winner of the contest will receive $50 in Chamber Bucks.

  • How about poverty and need in our community as the theme.
