Five seek three school board positions

Election challenges have been filed in the Mountain Home School District, the Prairie School District and the Mountain Home Highway District.

Following changes in state election laws, candidate petition deadlines were in March this year for the May 17 election. All elections will now be run from the county elections office.

Write-in candidates have until this Friday to file a notarized notice of candidacy with each local government holding an election this spring. Only write-ins who declare their candidacy by that time can have their names counted during election tabulation.
