Students were exercising their rights

Dear editor:

In response to Ms. True-Sterlings comments I must say that we all have the right to protest peacefully.

The students were merely demonstrating their rights. On school time? When else do they get together?

Mr. Luna's plan leaves lot to be desired. I have spent a lot of my time saying so to legislators, but to no avail. In defense of Mr. Luna, he did what he was asked to do and did a lot of data gathering in the process. However, his data gathering and his subsequent bills that came out of the legislature do not address what the schools really need to do to update education.

So the students did what they felt was the right thing to do and did just that. They have my thanks.
