The sounds of ethnic music filled the Elks Lodge as members of the local Basque population celebrated their culture during the 51st Annual Basque Sheepherders' Ball on Saturday.

Located a few doors down from Mountain Home's historic Basque district, the evening featured food, music and dancing unique to this ethnic European culture.

"Whenever you meet another Basque, they want to know things like your family history," he added. "It's something I've remembered since I was a kid."
