Icy roads trigger a number of wrecks

Friday, February 25, 2011

Elmore County authorities are responding to a number of slide-offs and rollovers due to the icy road conditions on I-84 and other roads in the county.

Drivers are being urged to slow down and drive with caution.

None of the accidents so far are believed to have resulted in any serious injuries, but some lesser injuries have been reported.

  • Just because you have four wheel drive or front wheel drive doesn't mean you can fool mother nature.

Most of the 7 wrecks I saw this morning between Mountain Home and Boise, were 2 wheel drive cars or trucks. I saw one 4 wheel drive upside down. The majority of wrecks were heading east bound also. The Semi-trucks were even going slow today and driving for the conditions.

When you want to drive like an idiot you are going to lose. I had to go to Boise this morning left about 8 and saw what was left of 3 roll overs. Its a wonder nobody was killed. I did notice the East bound lanes were driving alot slower than the West bound this morning. a number of idiots passed me like I was standing still all types of vehicles were driving to fast for conditions.

  • well you know whos the cause of most of these -- those people who like to go in a rush to get places we had some one come by us at 85 miles an hour in a car , luckily there were no snow that day but if therewas ,

    guess what

we would have saw him in a ditch on the side of the road and when we went to pick up my ps3 , back in 06 there were a total of 9 accidents on the way there and 5 on the way back lol
