County has two Superbowl ties

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Mountain Home and Elmore County have two solid ties to Superbowl XLV, which will be played Feb. 5 in Dallas, Texas, between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Korey Hall, who was born in Mountain Home and grew up in Glenns Ferry, is a fullback for the Green Bay Packers. Hall played both ways for the Glenns Ferry Pilots and was a Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year when he played for the Boise State University Broncos before being drafted by the Packers.

In addition, Marathon Cheese, which operates a major cheese packaging plant in Mountain Home, is based in Green Bay, Wis., the home of the Packers.

  • It's Pittsburgh, with an 'h' on the end. At least all the other publications, nation wide, put an 'h' on Pittsburgh. Do you think they are ALL wrong??

  • The Superbowl is always on a Sunday, and that's Feb. 6th

Also, the headquarters for Marathon Cheese are in Marathon, Wisc not Green Bay.
