Idaho's 2010 utilized apple production is estimated at 60 million pounds, up 33 percent from 2009, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service. Apple value of utilized production is estimated at $11.8 million, up 20 percent from 2009, but down 31 percent from 2008. Peach utilized production totaled 6,500 tons, down 22 percent from 2009. Peach value of utilized production is estimated at $5.90 million, down 19 percent from 2009, but up 17 percent from 2008. Sweet cherry utilized production is estimated at 1,800 tons, down 33 percent from 2009. Sweet cherry value of utilized production is estimated at $4.01 million, up 35 percent from 2009 but down 29 percent from 2008. Prune and plum utilized production in 2010 is estimated at 2,600 tons, up 30 percent from 2009. Prune and plum value of utilized production is estimated at $983,000, down 1 percent from 2009 and down 23 percent from 2008.

Nationally, utilized apple production for 2010 is estimated at 9.21 billion pounds, down 3 percent from 2009. Utilized production in Washington increased 6 percent from 2009 to 5.50 billion pounds. Utilized peach production for 20lO is estimated at 1.13 million tons, up 5 percent from the previous year. The California crop, accounting for 72 percent of the United States utilized peach production, is down less than 1 percent from 2009. Utilized sweet cherry production decreased 19 percent from a year ago to 311,130 tons. Utilized prune and plum production in Idaho, Oregon, Michigan, and Washington totaled 11,400 tons, down 36 percent from last year.
