Wednesday, January 19, 2011

A woman convicted last July of embezzling thousands of dollars in state and county funds was ordered to repay more than $260,000 in restitution following a hearing Jan. 10 in District Court.

Mava Terhaar is currently serving a 14-year prison term after she pled guilty to one count of misusing public funds while working with the department of motor vehicles office in Mountain Home.

Originally facing five felony counts with a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison and additional fines per charge, she qualifies for parole in three years.

  • How do you get something from nothing? We, as taxpayers, will pay for her for the rest of her life when she ends up on SSI and Medicaid.
