A year after their daughter was diagnosed with a rare, crippling ailment, a Mountain Home family will hold a benefit later this month to raise awareness of her condition and to help offset her growing medical expenses.

The benefit for Brittanie Checketts will run from 5-11:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Elk's Lodge and feature a spaghetti feed along with a silent and live auction.

Throughout the evening, the event will include a performance by magician Keone Valdez along with D.J. music.

  • While spell check is nice, try using grammar check. Then a second proofreader should go over the entire paper. Each week I see at least one or two typos in the Glenns Ferry Gazette. I thought the Mountain Home News would look more professional than a high school newspaper.
