Illegal immigrant pleads not guilty in death of airman's wife

An Ontario man living illegally in the United States goes to trial March 8 for his role in the death of a military spouse at Mountain Home Air Force Base.

Homero Garibay-Alvarez pled not guilty to one count of felony vehicle manslaughter during his arraignment Jan. 3 in 5th District Court at the Twin Falls Courthouse.

He stands accused of causing the death of Samantha K. Leonard, 23, following a two-car collision Sept. 26 on Highway 93 between Twin Falls and Jackpot. She died from her injuries Oct. 2.
