Extradition of murder suspect could take 2 more years

Mexican authorities arrested Jorge Lopez-Orozco in October 2009 in connection with the deaths of Rebecca Ramirez and two of her seven children

Nearly 15 months after his arrest, a man suspected of murdering a Mountain Home woman and two of her children remains in custody as officials strive to bring him to the United States to stand trial.

However, it now appears it could take authorities another two years to extradite Jorge A. Lopez-Orozco from Mexico.

The United States is currently working on 100 extradition cases with Lopez-Orozco among those cases, said Elmore County Prosecutor Kristina Schindele.
