Letter to the Editor

The government doesn't give anything; it takes

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Dear editor:

What are you whining about, J.W.? You libs got what you wanted. START is just an extension of Jimmy Carter's SALT II treaty. We cut back, but the Russians didn't. Of course, I'm sure we're all aware that PUTIN, being a former head of the KGB, is vastly more trustworthy than Brehznev was, eh? Oh yeah, PUTIN is a man of honor! We can certainly trust HIM!

Ronald Reagan, who believed in "peace through STRENGTH," immediately rebuilt what Carter dismantled, and let the record show that for the next eight years, nobody used our flag as a doormat. Now we're being sold out again on ALL fronts.

Government funding. A crook robs you on a city street. He takes $300 from your wallet, then gives you back a dollar for a cup of coffee because it's cold outside. Is that some kind of GIFT to make you feel a little better about being robbed in the first place?

The government never gave anybody ANYTHING, J.W. They do not create wealth, and before they can give anybody ANYTHING, they first must TAKE. They take BILLIONS from the taxpayers every year, and waste most of it! When they DO give some state a $400,000 "grant," you guys praise "government funding," like it was some kind of magical gift from your late Uncle Henry.

That "grant" is the "DOLLAR for coffee" you just got back from that "$300" the thief took out of your wallet in the first place.

The very first thing a Democrat says if you mention "secession from the Union" for example, is "OH, NO, we NEED those federal funds!" Where do you guys think that money CAME from to BEGIN WITH?

You come back from vacation, and find your house cleaned out. Not a stick of furniture left. A week later, the culprits come by again and toss a lamp out on your lawn. What would you do? Run out on the lawn and yell "Thank you kind sirs for helping us?"

Government funding isn't some kind of GIFT, J.W.. You're just getting the horn back from the CAR they stole from you EARLIER. You lefties out there think it's "pennies from Heaven, all hail and praise to our generous Congress." You've been ROBBED, J.W., they're just giving you back a few dimes to try to keep you from "calling the cops" (revolt) if, God forbid, you ever see it for the organized theft it actually IS.
