Student film festival scheduled

Hoping to harness the creative talents of additional students across the county, a local school teacher has announced plans to expand the city's yearly film competition.

Celebrating its third anniversary, the Mountain Home Film Festival now allows any student in Elmore County between 5 to 18 years old to enter their homemade movies.

Previously limited to junior high and high school students, organizers opted to change the festival criteria to get more children involved, said Rusty Earl, who organizes the yearly competition.
