Airmen cookie drive begins

Friday, November 26, 2010

The local community will join forces at Mountain Home Air Force Base to bring a "taste of home" to dorm residents and others deployed overseas during the annual airmen's holiday cookie drive.

"The holiday cookie drive is a long-standing Air Force tradition," said Traci Buckley, this year's cookie drive coordinator. "It's a great opportunity for the wing and local community to say thank you for our airmen's service."

The goal is to collect approximately 7,200 cookies in all shapes, colors and sizes to benefit single airmen at the base, according to Buckley. In addition, some of these cookie packages will go to other airmen working on Christmas Day.
