Local grocery store celebrates Halloween in fun, friendly, family way

Local business salutes the Air Force during the Halloween holiday

All of the employees at the local Mountain Home Albertsons grocery store have left it up to the citizens of Mountain Home to judge our pumpkin carving contest. Pumpkins range from traditional styles to comedic aspects as well as completely original ideas. All pumpkins to be judged include the following:

1. Air Force pumpkin complete with combat helmet and Soldier's Prayer

2. A hand painted Idaho elk scene

3. A goofy hand crafted clown

4. An Idaho Lottery powerball pumpkin with lottery tickets exploding out of the top

5. A "Welcome To The Butcher Block" hand carved pumpkin

6. A girl's version of punk princess pumpkin complete with black glitter and pink bows

7. The "official" Albertsons pumpkin

8. A fright face pumpkin complete with spewing blood.

9. A carved hand pointing and saying "Fright This Way"

10. "The Governor" painted pumpkin with a paper Governor holding a child and ready to shake hands.

11. A zombie pumpkin complete with spaghetti noodles resembling brains

12. A jolly pumpkin person complete with tiny pumpkins for arms and legs attached with rope and straw for hair.

All of the above are ready for judging on Friday the 22nd of 2010 through Sunday the 24th of 2010 inside facing checkout lanes. We ask you bring your artistic eyes.
