What remained a frustrating season with lots of close losses finally came to an end last Wednesday when the Mountain Home Tigers boys soccer team lost to Nampa in the District III 4A boys soccer tournament at Kuna.

The Tigers lost their district opener to top-seeded Middleton 1-0 last Saturday, then bounced back Monday with a 2-1 win over Kuna before losing to Nampa, 2-1, to be eliminated from the tournament.

Tigers 2, Kavemen 1

Mountain Home kept its season alive Monday with a 2-1 win over the host Kuna Kavemen in the losers' bracket of the District III 4A tourney.

Blake Pachner scored Mountain Home's first goal off an assist by Dominic Torres.

Torres scored Mountain Home's other goal. Jack Richelieu had eight saves on goal for the Tigers.

"That was probably our best complete game of the season," said Tiger boys soccer coach Paul Walsh.

Bulldogs 2, Tigers 1

The Kuna win put the Tigers against Nampa in a battle to see who would come back the next day and play for third place.

The Tigers played hard, but fell short, 2-1, to the Bulldogs.

Dominic Torres scored the lone goal for Mountain Home while Jack Richelieu had 10 saves on goal as goalkeeper.

The Tigers, who were just outscored 4-3 in district tourney action, finished the year with an overall 2-12-3 record.
