Friday, October 22, 2010

The losing streak reached six for the Lady Tigers as they dropped road volleyball matches at Emmett and Columbia to close out the regular season last week.

Emmett 3, Mountain Home 0

Mountain Home stayed fairly close, but dropped a conference volleyball match to Emmett in three straight games at Emmett Tuesday night. Mountain Home lost the first game 16-25, dropped the second 15-25, and dropped the third and final game 19-25.

Dylan Dean had eight assists and four kills for Mountain Home. Jessica Liercke and Jacci Cristobal both had three kills.

Columbia 3, Mountain Home 0

Mountain Home went into Thursday night's match at Columbia in sixth place at 3-11, a game ahead of the 2-11 Lady Wildcats, but could not find their consistency, losing to Columbia in three straight games.

Mountain Home lost the first game 19-25, dropped the second 12-25, and lost the third game 17-25.

Dylan Dean had 11 assists and two aces for Mountain Home while Jacci Cristobal had four kills and Jessica Liercke had three blocks.

With the loss, the Lady Tigers dropped into a tie with Columbia for sixth place. The two split during the regular season, but Columbia's win was in three games and Mountain Home took five games to beat them, so Columbia won the tie-breaker and took sixth place.

Mountain Home got the number seven seed.

The Lady Tigers opened the District III 4A volleyball tournament at Bishop Kelly Monday night. Bishop Kelly was the number two seed. The first two nights of district are at the highest seeds, with Wednesday and Thursday night's action at Mountain Home in Lloyd Schiller Gymnasium.
