The Mountain Home girls soccer team enjoyed a good week last week, winning two games and tying one.

Mountain Home 4, Columbia 3

Rachel Warila scored in the closing minutes to help the Mountain Home girls down Columbia 4-3 last Sept. 27 at Eastside Park in Mountain Home.

Warila had two goals and an assist in the game. Shelby Henrick and Kelly Robins also had goals. Mady Vines and Jessica Tindall had assists. Amanda Klitzke had five saves on goal. Becky Vogl had two.

Mountain Home girls soccer coach Mike Fisher was pleased with the winning effort by his girls.

"I think this might be our most important game. I think Columbia is just an evenly matched team and we had a tough loss to them, and I think this is who we're going to see right when we get to districts, so with two losses, that would be a tough game. Now we know we what we can do, and I just couldn't be prouder."

With the win, the Lady Tigers improved to 5-6-1 on the season and 4-6-1 in league play.

Mountain Home 3, Middleton 3

Mountain Home and Middleton battled to a 3-3 tie last Wednesday at Middleton.

Scoring goals for Mountain Home were Rachel Warila, Mady Vines and Claudia Bermensolo. Bermensolo also had an assist, as did Jasmine Deroy. Becky Vogl recorded eight saves and Amanda Klitzke one, as goalkeepers.

"We got down pretty early, 2-0, but showed a lot of character to crawl back," said Coach Fisher of the Middleton tie.

Mountain Home 2, Jerome 0

The Lady Tigers blanked Jerome 2-0 Saturday at Eastside Park in a non-conference game.

Mountain Home's goals were scored by Kelly Robins and Rachel Warila. Amanda Klitzke got the shutout with seven saves on goal.

"We were a little slow at times," said Coach Fisher after the game. "But we stuck to our game and pulled it off."

The win improved the Lady Tigers to 6-6-2 on the season. Mountain Home closes out its regular season this week. They hosted Kuna for Senior Night on Monday and close out their regular season schedule this afternoon, Oct. 6, at Nampa.

The district tourney starts Saturday at Bishop Kelly.
