Thursday, October 7, 2010

Services were held Wednesday for Samantha K. Leonard, 23, of Mountain Home Air Force Base, who died Saturday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident Sept. 26 on Highway 93 between Twin Falls and Jackpot.

Leonard had been flown to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center following the accident, in which she suffered severe head trauma.

He husband, Kevin L. Leonard, 27, had sustained only minor injuries in the accident that occurred when Homero Garibay-Alvarez, 36, of Ontario, Ore., who was heading southbound on Highway 93, lost control of his 2001 Dodge Dakota pickup, crossed the center line about eight miles from the Idaho-Nevada border in Twin Falls County, and struck Leonard's 2001 Volkswagon GTI.
