Fire department hosts annual open house

The annual fire department open house will be held this Thursday, Oct. 7.

The event, which takes place each year during national Fire Prevention Week, features rides for children on the fire trucks.

Rides and other activities begin at 5:30 p.m. and last until 8:15 p.m.

Cookies and milk provided by the Idaho Dairyman's Association will be available. The event also features representatives from a number of area emergency services and other fire departments providing displays and activities for both children and adults.

As part of the Fire Prevention Week activities, firemen have been going into the local schools to teach fire safety skills to children.
