ADVISORY: Community transit receives new buses

Friday, September 24, 2010

Mountain Home Community Transit will hold a ceremony Monday afternoon to mark the arrival of two new passenger buses.

Scheduled to start at 4 p.m. in Railroad Park, the event gives members of the local community a chance to tour the vehicles along with a free ride on the community transit's city route.

Company representatives will also be available to answer people's questions regarding the organization, scheduled routes and the new vehicles.

Purchased through a grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, both buses offer seating for 24 passengers or seven wheel chairs or a combination of both, said Terri Lindenberg, executive director for Treasure Valley Transit.

The buses will begin running routes through the city and back and forth to Mountain Home Air Force Base on Tuesday.
