Soccer boys fall short

It was another rough week for the Mountain Home Tigers boys soccer team, which came up short in road games with Nampa and Bishop Kelly.

Nampa 5, Mountain Home 4

The Nampa Bulldogs scored late in the game to complete a comeback 5-4 conference win over the Mountain Home Tigers last Monday at Nampa.

Behind the Gibbons brothers, Tyson and Jalen, the Tigers shot out to an early 2-0 lead. Tyson scored the first goal off an assist by Jalen and Jalen got the second, off an assist by Tyson.

Austin Lucas scored the Tigers' third goal. The two teams were tied at 3-3 at the half.

Nampa took a 4-3 lead but Mountain Home, on a penalty kick by Dominic Torres, tied the game at 4-4. The Bulldogs scored the final goal of the game for the 5-4 win.

Bishop Kelly 2, Mountain Home 0

The Tigers started the second time through their conference schedule last Wednesday at Bishop Kelly and were shut out by the Knights 2-0 to drop to 1-6-1 in conference play.

Mountain Home has three games this week. They hosted Emmett Tuesday, travel to Skyview Thursday, and host Jerome in a non-conference game Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
