Todd Thorn, alternative energy teacher at Richard McKenna Charter High School, addresses the audience while the school's new wind turbine generates electricity during a dedication ceremony Monday morning.

This week's event marks "another milepost in the project's evolution," Thorn told the dozens of students and guests attending the ceremony.

Serving as both an electrical generator and hands-on learning tool, the turbine is the first of its kind in Mountain Home following passage of the city's first wind turbine ordinance earlier this year.

  • First of its kind? Not hardly, there are at least two others in town that have been spinning for quite some time now.

At a school....as MM said. I know no offense was meant by this article..... let's all be proud of these kids! They have done a good thing, and the town is the better for it.

    Thanks Kids!
