A Glenns Ferry resident was transported by ambulance to Elmore Medical Center after suffering injuries from an alleged attack Wednesday night.

According to initial reports taken by deputies with the Elmore County Sheriff's Department, Lyle Jones was at his residence when a masked suspect entered the home at 489 E. Arthur. Jones told deputies that the suspect was carrying a pistol.

The suspect repeatedly struck Jones on the head then fled on foot. Jones was taken by ambulance to Elmore Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Jones reported to deputies working the case that the suspect's weapon discharged.

A search warrant was later issued for Jones' residence and evidence was removed from the crime scene, said Captain Bob Peace of the ECSD.

The only description of the suspect is that of a male approximately 6 feet tall.

Anybody who may have heard or witnessed any suspicious activity around the time of the alleged attack is asked to contact the Elmore County Sheriff's Department at 587-2100.

Deputies Pickering, Jelilia, and Page were the initial responders
