Thursday, September 16, 2010

The Idaho Library Association Book Award Committee has chosen its selection for the 2009 Book of the Year Award.

The Book Award winner for 2009 is God's Dogs: a Novel in Stories by Mitch Wieland. God's Dogs is published by Southern Methodist University Press.

Honorable mentions were awarded to The Fifth Generation: a Nez Perce tale by Linwood Laughy published by Mountain Meadow Press and The Good Times are All Gone Now: life, death, and rebirth in an Idaho Mining Town by Julie Whitesel Weston published by the University of Oklahoma Press.

Each year, the Association honors an author or photographer whose published book makes an outstanding contribution to Idaho literature.

The award will be presented at the 2010 Idaho Library Association conference in Post Falls in October
