Tipanuk man sentenced on drug charges

A Tipanuk man faces up to 20 years in prison for felony drug possession and trafficking following sentencing in Fourth District Court last month.

As part of an earlier plea agreement, Albino G. Pedroza received a total determinate time of six years in prison with an indeterminate time of 14 additional years, along with a $10,000 fine.

Originally facing four felony charges, he entered a guilty plea to one count of trafficking marijuana and a separate charge of possessing and planning to distribute methamphetamine. As part of the agreement, the prosecution dropped two felony charges of delivering controlled substances.
