Lady Tigers fall in opener

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers lost their season opening volleyball match in three straight games at Bishop Kelly Thursday night.

Bishop Kelly took the first game, 25-16, won easily, 25-7, in the second, and took the third game 25-17.

Dylan Dean led Mountain Home with 10 assists and two kills. Brittany Ryan had three aces on 7/7 serves, Stephanie Jewell was 13/14 on serves with two aces, Jessica Liercke had three blocks and two kills, Jacci Cristobal had three kills and Dakota Dean had one kill.

Mountain Home went to the Kuna Klassic on Friday and Saturday. Pool play consisted of two games to 25, or 40 minutes, whichever came first. The Lady Tigers beat Marsing 25-22, 21-15; split with Payette 18-25, 25-18; split with Middleton 25-23, 16-23; lost to Skyview 11-25, 15-25; split with Tri-Valley 25-24, 12-20; split with Melba 16-25, 25-18; split with Emmett 25-14, 22-25, and split with Meridian 25-20, 17-25.

In the single-elimination bracket play Saturday afternoon, the Lady Tigers lost to Weiser in three, 23-25, 25-11 and 13-15.

Dakota Dean was 14/16 serving, with five aces and two kills. Dylan Dean was 7/8 on serves with three aces, two assists, two blocks and a kill. Jessica Liercke had a block and three kills. Brittany Ryan was 8/9 serving with three aces, Krissy Elliott was 15/15 serving with two aces. and Emilee Schetzie and Hailey Belt both had a kill.

The Lady Tigers hosted a tri-match against Kuna and Nampa Tuesday and return to action next week.
