The Western Elmore County Recreation District unanimously approved a streamlined fiscal budget that marks the next phase of possibly bringing a community recreation center to the Mountain Home area.

The action was taken following the WECRD's budget hearing last Wednesday.

Scheduled to take affect Oct. 1, the $447,378 budget is more than $20,000 less than its current version, despite a modest increase in tax revenue, according to recreation district president Marsha Sellers.

MHN, I have to say that you did a pretty crappy job on this article. Your numbers are not correct. The WECRD had no money in their budget for Phase II with the YMCA. When asked (by me) they said it was in the community (development or programs) line. Not a single member of that board had the YMCA contract to refer to. They had to obtain a copy from a member of the public to figure out what was ahead. Why is this?

These 3 people are like the 3 stooges and they have the MHN to prop them up. It is not journalism if you do not represent the facts. Maybe have a reporter at the next meeting and not take the WECRD Board's for what they "think" went on. It does the public a GREAT disservice to NOT have the facts.
