County rejects comprehensive plan amendments

For the second time in a month, the Elmore County commissioners rejected revisions to a governing document outlining industrial development in the county.

Monday's unanimous vote on amending the county's comprehensive plan puts the issue in limbo until commissioners and planning and zoning officials can resume their discussions on refining the document in the coming year.

Last updated in 2004, the comprehensive plan governs future residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial growth across the county. Proposed amendments to the plan rejected by the county commissioners sought to amend passages of the multi-chapter plan that conflicted with other sections of the document or put undue restrictions on future industrial growth in the county.
