Bowfishing championship set this weekend at C.J.

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

The Idaho State Bowfishing Championship will be held Saturday and Sunday, July 24 and 25, at C.J. Strike Reservoir.

"As responsible environmental stewards Idaho Power supports this unique sporting opportunity to catch large non-native, non-game fish from the reservoir," said Stephanie McCurdy, Idaho Power's corporate communication specialist.

Idaho Power sponsored the inaugural tournament last year and is a sponsor again this year.

Last year, 37 two man teams participated, with one team coming from Texas. This year, the Association expects 50 two-man teams, both local and from around the state and the region.

"Folks planning to camp and/or recreate at Strike this weekend should plan accordingly for increased activity due to the event," McCurdy said.
