Man injured in accident at reservoir

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

A Twin Falls man suffered significant injuries when he ran into a moored boat while waterskiing Saturday at the Anderson Ranch Dam reservoir.

Tony Haman, 50, was doing barefoot skiing about 10:30 a.m. when he lost control as the boat towing him attempted to circle around in the Lime Creek arm of the reservoir.

He then crashed into a boat moored on the shoreline and was rendered unconscious.

Members of his party who were camping in the immediate area rushed to pull him from the water.

He was taken by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. He was released Monday.

  • He was released Monday, the article was dated Wed 21 July, but when did the accident happen? Basic journalism involves the 'what/where/when'of the situation to be addressed in the first paragraph. Without fail the Mtn Home News falls down on these essentials, which makes reading articles a frustrating chore.

  • Saturday, about 10:30 a.m. Without fail, some people fail to differentiate between a weekly newspaper and CNN.
