Census workers to start second round

Friday, July 23, 2010

Efforts to make the 2010 Census as accurate as possible will result in a second round of visits for people in places like Mountain Home as census takers across Idaho wrap up visiting households that didn't mail back their 2010 Census forms.

Local census workers will call on a small sample of households in the following months as part of a series of quality-assurance measures to verify that the 2010 Census information collected is correct.

They will be re-interviewing or verifying households during three specific operations: coverage follow-up, vacant delete check and field verification. Those operations are scheduled to last into August and are part of the US Census Bureau's effort to maximize the accuracy of the census.
