After pleading guilty to embezzling thousands of dollars from the department of motor vehicles office in Mountain Home, a former county employee received a 14-year prison term during sentencing Monday afternoon.

Mava Terhaar qualifies for parole in three years after she pled guilty in late April to one count of embezzling public funds.

A separate hearing to determine how much of the $270,000 she reportedly stole over a 10-year period is currently scheduled for Nov. 3.

Terhaar was immediately taken into custody following sentencing.

Originally, the former department of motor vehicles employee faced five felony counts of misusing public funds by a public employee. Each count included a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison and additional fines.

What is this...."A separate hearing to determine how much of the $270,000 she reportedly stole over a 10-year period is currently scheduled for Nov. 3" Do we more people involved in the current $270,000 theft, if so why haven't they been charged, if they have who are they?
