HUD releases $579,000 to help WECRD build recreation center

HUD representative Sara Jensen has given the go ahead to release federal appropriations funds awarded in FY08 and FY09 in the amount of $579,000 to the Western Elmore County Recreation District for the construction of a recreation center.

The Community Leadership Development Committee of the YMCA is currently conducting a market study to determine the feasibility of building a recreation center. If, the market study determines that a recreation building will not be built, however, the HUD appropriations will not be collected.
