Mountain Home Air Force Base plays a new but increasing role in improving the readiness of Singapore's combat air forces, according to the leader of the island nation.

Republic of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong highlighted this growing relationship during his visit to the base Sunday afternoon.

Throughout the afternoon, the prime minister met with members of the 428th Fighter Squadron here, which serves as the host unit for the Republic of Singapore air force training organization. In addition, he gained a first-hand look at the progress and milestones the unit achieved since it activated at Mountain Home during a commemoration ceremony last November.
