Franklin touring exhibit opens Thursday

Opening ceremonies will be held Thursday for the national Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary Library Traveling Exhibit at the Mountain Home Public Library.

The exhibit will appear at the library July 15 through Aug. 27.

The opening ceremonies will begin July 15 with a social hour at 6 p.m. and a program at 7 p.m. featuring state and local dignitaries and an appearance by Franklin himself, his wife and son (Franklin re-enactor Gregg Hardy and his wife, Deborah, and son, William). Both Franklin and local historian John Hiler will give short speeches as part of the ceremonies. Light refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library will be provided.
