Five people were injured, with two listed in serious condition, during a single-vehicle rollover on I-84 Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews from city, county and state agencies responded to the crash off the eastbound lane of the interstate at Milepost 108.

According to an initial report from the Idaho State Police patrolmen on scene, the vehicle was traveling through the state from California when the silver Honda Civic rolled off the right shoulder around 1:35 p.m. Debris from the vehicle was scattered along approximately 100 feet of a culvert off the shoulder, indicating the car rolled at least once before coming to rest on its roof.

Two adults in the vehicle were taken by air ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Reports at the scene indicated both had sustained "very serious" injuries.

The vehicle's other passengers, including two children ages seven and two, were taken by ground ambulance to Elmore Medical Center. An initial report indicated that both children were either wearing seatbelts or strapped into approved child safety seats at the time of the accident.

Elmore County Sheriff's deputies restricted eastbound traffic to one lane starting at Milepost 107 as rescue workers treated the crash victims and removed the overturned car.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
